The Perfect Sun Shelf.
West Shore, Tampa · January 2026
The brief: A West Shore family wanted a clean, modern backyard built around a place to actually sit in the water — sun-soaked in the afternoon, with room for everyone to cool off.
What we built: A 14′ × 28′ pool anchored by a massive curved sun shelf, with three bubblers spaced around its perimeter and a full-width bench across the deep end. A Tahoe Blue interior gives the water its deep blue-green tone, framed by Mira Shell decking and artificial grass that stays green year-round.
The details: The curved tanning ledge is the centerpiece — wide enough for loungers and chairs, with the bubblers adding movement and a soft sound. The full-width deep-end bench means there is a seat no matter where you wade in.
